Advertising, With Friends
"many Internet users were interested in viewing marketer's profiles - one-third of Gen Y users and nearly half of adults." ~Biz Report (Sept 3)

For those of you who want to read business' profiles... Why? I personally don't see the thrill of reading the profile of McDonalds. It's not going to make me want a Big Mac any more or less than I do right now. Being their "friend" isn't going to make me want to buy from them.

The article goes on to say that advertisers should form relationships with their customers through their social networking profiles. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to MySpace to read the profile of WalMart.

So tell me, what's the thrill?
