The first point he brings up in this post is "passion". If you don't have a passion for what you're writing
about, don't do it. It won't work. You may be able to get through it for the first few months, or maybe even a year at best. Then you'll find yourself out of ideas and unable to write anymore. Then he talks about regularity and writing well. Writing well can mean a lot of things. Of course it means watching your spelling and grammar carefully, but it also means writing so people will read. Use of bulleted lists and bold titles throughout your writing can help, also short paragraphs are a necessity on the Web. The more you write the more people will have to read, so post often.
Be yourself and post a variety of things. If you fake your writing people will be able to tell, so be real while you write. Also, write about a lot of different things while still staying on topic. This will keep your key audience coming and also keep them from getting bored.
Link to, and comment on, other blogs. Whenever you find a blog that makes you want to comment on it do so. When you're finished commenting to that blog, link to it from your blog.
Use sites like Technorati and del.icio.us to get your site noticed by the rest of the blogging world. The more involved you get in the blogging world the more your blog will get noticed.
