Wired had an interesting piece earlier this week on a woman in Michigan whose MySpace page got targeted by a debt collector. She's now suing the collection agency.
Paula Newland fell behind on her car payments - and everyone kind of knows that now because Assets Recovered and Advanced Equityevidentlyallegedly posted something on her MySpace page about it. That violates credit laws in pretty much every state. An creditor can't publicize your debt and credit problems.
The case is interesting because it highlights how interwoven social networks have become with our real lives...
