Connecting From the Library or Internet Cafe
Filed in archive Safety Online by Linda Roeder on April 30, 2007

If you log in to your social networking sites from a library, Internet cafe or other public computer you may be leaving your password behind and not even know it. Be careful when you're logging in to your social networking site from a public computer that you don't save your username and password to that computer. Look for the button that saves the username and password and make sure it's turned off. Also watch for pop-ups that ask to save your username and password and make sure you tell it "no".
What about other people looking over your shoulder
while you read or type something? Sometimes, a lot of times, you're probably posting something personal and you don't want people reading while you type. Or you may be reading someone else's personal message to you or their personal blog and you don't want people to know what you're reading or what they posted. How do you handle this? How do you handle privacy and security issues when logging in to a public computer?
