Del.icio.us Adds Thumbnails, Digg-Like Counter
Del.icio.us has been quietly rolling out small enhancements including a new home page design with thumbnails and bookmark counts. Shachter sold del.icio.us to Yahoo! at the right time. They were and still are the leader for personal bookmarking services that happen to be social. But, Digg and its class turned that equation around. They created social bookmarking sites that happen to store your bookmarks. And that turned out to "seem" a little more popular.
It'd be interesting to see who prefers which service and why. Anyone done a study on that?
Tailrank creator, Kevin Burton, has a bit more short and keen commentary: It seems that del.icio.us has a bit of Digg envy.
I'd take a cool few $M over a BusinessWeek cover, though.
