Email Addresses You Can Throw Out
Do you only need an email address for a little while? Try a disposable email address. Ivy from the I Got Spam blog talks about how you can use these disposable email addresses to keep from getting more spam.
Some sites don't like these disposable email addresses because you can use the email address to sign up for the site and then ditch the email address. Now the site has no way of reaching you or knowing who you are.
The other downside to disposable emails is that they can be used by spammers. The spammer can get a disposable email address, send a bunch of emails and then Throw out the email address and be free, never to be found out.
If you are going to start signing up for a bunch of sites or something and you don't want them to ever be able to contact you a disposable email may be the way to go. Then get rid of it.
