There have been rumors for months, ever since Google acquired Orkut, that Google was planning something bigger and getting in on the social networking bandwagon. I believe it, after all, they have their hands into everything else.
Social networking being as big as it is I don't see why Google wouldn't stake their claim in the social networking world. Could even mean big money for them if they do it right. If they want to be bigger than MySpace then they'd better do it right.
I think it'll work for Google. The Google name carries so much weight in the realm of the Internet. Everything they touch seems to turn to gold. I fully believe that if they try social networking, it will flourish too.
A great social networking site, like the one I suspect Google would create, would allow people to interact and socialize in ways they've never though of before. Maybe it would let people play games with each other, like Twister online.
What do you think about the idea of Google and social networking?
