HeyLetsGo: Community + Events

I reviewed Heyletsgo previously. What struck me about what they are doing that is different than any other event focussed site is that they are building an online community that revolves around offline activities. For centuries events have been bringing people together and letting people form new relationships. With the boom in social networking, people are increasingly initiating new relationships via the interweb. I believe that HeyLetsGo is the closest service in existance today that brings the power of both events and online social networking to initiate new relationships:

Aggregating the most popular public events and letting people network before and after – is the holy grail for online event websites. And noone has created a critical mass of public events and people in the same place to do this effectively. We'll see if Heyletsgo can pull it off.

Heyletsgo presents information about events and lets people use these events as a common context for connecting. They first provide a comprehensive view in list and map form, for people to discover activities and events.
