Being the cofounder of an online service for events, with some social networking components to it, I have seen first hand that events (or shared experiences) are the best place to network "socially". So, I think there's a lot of opportunity as anchoring a social network based on activities.
Heyletsgo is currently like a "young professionals organization" or sports club meets social networking. In fact, I think combining Heyletsgo with a social club, or a local travel company would be a smart move for the site to quickly pick up a revenue stream and build community.
I am sure the founders, Roy Rodenstein and Rebecca Xiong, have their own ideas around business models. But, as far as the site goes, register me as "impressed" so far.
Users can form groups, enter events, rate restaurants, create wishlists and a bunch of other standard socialnetworking stuff. The part I like best is that the most popular events are listed on the site. Aggregating the most popular public events and letting people network before and after - is the holy grail for online event websites. And noone has created a critical mass of public events and people in the same place to do this effectively. We'll see if Heyletsgo can pull it off.
