Host Your Movable Type Blog on Yahoo!

Six Apart and Yahoo! team up to go head-to-head with Google's Blogger. However, instead of focusing on the consumer, like Blogger does so well, Yahoo! is choosing to capture the small business market with Movable Type as their platform. Since 360 wasn't a rousing success (though it still is rather early to call it), I guess they're branching out and trying new things. Movable Type has a sizeable following so it makes sense they would choose someone with a proven success rate.

It's relatively cheap, though not free like their arch-rival's software, but Movable Type is so much better than Blogger (spam-city) so it doesn't really matter I guess. Movable Type offers categories, track-backs (that work), extended entries, etc. while Blogger really only wins on ease of use. MT's post editor is difficult to use and new bloggers would cry if they were faced with this UI. It's a tradeoff, I guess…
