How Do You Say, No!?
You've joined Facebook or MySpace, or one of the other social networking sites out there, only to have a deluge of people contact you that they want to be your "friend". You don't know any of them, and you really don't want a bunch of strangers on your friend's list. Or, the person requesting to be added is just not the kind of person you want to have on your friend list. Even worse, you have someone on your friend list and you want to get rid of them.
What do you do?
My tactic, be honest! Tell them that you're only on Facebook or MySpace to keep in touch with old friends and current friends, not to add everyone to your list. Some people may feel snubbed by this, but what else can you do?
How do you handle it when you decide not to add someone to your friends list? How do you say "goodbye", do you sugar coat it or just pull the rug out from under them?
