Go to your favorite social networking site and count how many friends you have. Do you have more than 10? 50? 100?

Some people like making new friends on their social networking sites. They may never send a message to most of the friends on their list or even go to their profile page ever again, but they're on each other's friends lists.

One man emailed me some time ago to tell me that he had thousands of people on his friends list. I'd like to ask him why? Why do some of you have so many friends on your friends lists? If you only have a few, why have you chosen to only have a select few?
