The Rumpus claims to have an unauthorized interview with an anonymous Facebook employee. And according to that anonymous Facebook employee, Facebook "is recording data on everything you do on the site. Everything. And not just the messages you've written and received either: it knows how many times you've clicked on your friend's profile, which photos you've viewed, and more."
TechCrunch has a nice summary of the 3,000-word Rumpus piece. It alos says that Facebook employees once had a master password which would all allow them access to to any users profile and personal data.
It will be interesting to see how much attention this get and whether any of it is ever verified.

That is an interesting statement. It is worrying to think that Facebook is recording everything. It makes me wonder what it will do with this information, who they may sell it to and what privacy laws this may infringe upon!

Recently in my public relations class my teacher conducted a little experiment. She took each student's name and tried to find as much information about them on the internet using just their name and common nicknames. Most students were surprised at how much information was available about them on the internet, especially through Facebook. Most students who thought they had pictures and information set to private did not. It would be even scarier to know that Facebook is recording information, but not really that surprising. Be careful what you put on the net.

It's kind of worrying to think about. I was always aware that there is no privacy agreement on facebook so they could sell what ever information they choose but wasn't aware the extent to which they were recording the information.
