Is GooTube Likely?
Rumour of the week is that Google is in talks to purchase Youtube. Everyone has already tossed their two cents into the ring. So, I figured I'd round up all the pennies and see if it adds up to $1.6B.
Arrington gives it a 40% likelihood. That's $0.008.
WSJ confirms rumour. 2 more cents = $0.028.
Greg Linden says no. Substract 2 cents. Total = $0.008
Pat McCarthy flip flops. Let's add 1 penny to the mix to bring it to $0.018.
Calacanis loves the idea. Thinks its the perfect strategic move for Google. I am adding 10 cents because Jason has some great arguments in favor of the deal.
That brings our total to $0.118.
Ok. So, we're still short a few 100s of millions. But, the kicker. What would this thing be called? Answer: Probably "GooTube". That's gotta be worth some serious cash.
