I was surprised to some across a post recently that suggested that Twitter is dominated by Conservatives.
I use Twitter. I don't tweet as much as I should. But hey, I'm on it. Is it "dominated" by Conservatives? If it is, I hadn't noticed.
Let no one be confused on the issue: I am not a Conservative. I took a facebook poll recently that says I'm moderately liberal. I follow Barack Obama, Mark Warner, and the Virginia Democrats. I don't follow Newt.
Twitter is kind of like a phone, I think. I don't really know whose using it when I'm not on the line. I know who I follow, who follows me. But it hadn't occured to me to wonder much about who esle was talking to whoever. I'm not sure twitter can be "dominated" in that sense. At least not as long as I don't have to listen...

I think because they've banged on about it quite a bit that there's an impression that conservatives dominate twitter, but with millions of users, I can't quite see how anyone would know without a poll. Then you'd have to separate out all the people who like to fiddle with polls, etc.
