People are getting more spam and even malicious emails because they are posting their email addresses online. Web designers have known for years that you can't post your email address online or you're just asking for trouble. They use JavaScripts, CSS and forms now more than ever. Most Web designers don't just add email addresses anymore.

If you really feel the need to have people send you email from your Web sites use an email form, unless you really like junk mail sent to your inbox. Some of the email form sites let you create a form on their server and link to it from your site. No email address posted online means less spam.
