Look, I understand the reasoning, I know they have to make money somehow and they've decided subscription is the way they want to do it, but it's a pain nonetheless.
So, I'm reasonably appeased with LinkedIn's newest subscription options (they released them today):
LinkedIn Pro accounts allow company recruiters to send out 50 messages per month to other users who aren't connected to them via their own LinkedIn contacts.
Pro account holders also receive more extensive search results and a dedicated customer service staff.
Personal Plus is designed for job-seekers and service providers, as well as other LinkedIn members who are looking for high visibility on their profiles. It allows users to make their profiles available to be contacted by any LinkedIn service provider, for free.
Here's my question though. If I pay the fee to provide my contact info to service providers can anyone see my info? I'd like that option... I can deal with the spam, because I *do* understand how to use the rules option within Outlook. I'd be more than willing to pay the fee to make it publicly searchable/contactable without scamming the system and putting my contact info in my profile.
Hopefully LinkedIn will provide the option soon. I'll let you know if I hear anything else on the issue.
