Minti Update

Minti is an online social community for Parents that I wrote about previously. They provide advice by parents for parents. Clay Cook, the CEO and Founder shot me a quick update, which was perfect. I don't think I could rewrite it better. So, I am quoting his email.
Minti is now out of Beta. Press release here.
Minti has expanded its feature set dramatically since launch and now includes…
- Claim your external parenting blog on Minti (similar to Technorati)
- Member blogs
- Flexible RSS feeds
- Intelligent Search
- Tagging and Tag-cloud generation
- User generated content management
- Friends links between members
- Extensive tracking/watch-lists
- Discussion forums
- Member ranking technology
- Content ranking by members
- Group creation and management
- Private messaging
- Member rank rewards
- Administrator functions
Minti is a wholly owned subsidiary of Vibe Capital Pty Ltd.
Vibe Capital soon plans to…
- launch new online social community verticals.
- license the technology to other verticals (currently in negotiations)
Minti is dealing with a number of potential suitors.
Minti's traffic continues to outpace it's direct competitors. See Alexaholic graph.
If you have any questions, ask them in the comments. I'll encourage Clay to answer back. You can also visit their blog at www.mintiblog.com and Clay's blog too.

Hi Pete,
Thanks for doing a blog post on us. The Alexa stats that are very interesting are the page view stats, see http://www.alexaholic.com/minti.com+families.com+clubmom.com+parenting.com+kaboose.com

This is about as good a target demographic as you can find for a social networking niche. Great choice. Ultimately social networking will follow the same trajectory as internet dating and will niche out. The large players will still rule the roost but niches are inevitable. Looks like you’re pulling ahead of parenting.com. How are you promoting the site Clay? Or, I should say, how are you gently encouraging moms to spread the word?

Hi Mark,
We have largely just been concentrating on the product, making sure it is better than any alternative, and engaging the community for their opinions/wants/dislikes etc. Our membership is largely from member referals who are happy to recommend the site.
Hope this answers your question.
