Niche Burnout
"Will this lead to niche social networks that are more relevant to people's interests? Can such networks acquire the critical mass to provide meaningful and new connections?" ~Beth's Blog, Mar. 23

social networking sites are starting to form that are niche or topic specific. Soon you will be able to belong to ten different social networking sites that are all geared to something different in your life. One for parenting, one for meeting classmates, one for your headaches, one for weight loss, one for allergies, one for Star Trek and add to that any number of things you want to talk to other people about.

The question is will these smaller niche social networking sites be able to get enough people to really make the site worth going to and participating in? Will niche social networking sites burn out? What do you think?
