Izimi is a new kind of social networking site. On your Izimi profile page you can have as many music, video and picture files as you want. Unlimited content of anything you want! What's the catch you ask?

The catch is that you store the content on your own computer. Izimi says that if you have a broadband connection your computer should be able to keep up with the bandwidth you would need to have viewers looking at, listening and viewing your files.

All you have to do is download Izimi's free software and you can get started. You tell Izimi what files you want on your profile page and they will be there.

They also claim that this is safe. By using the software they provide you will be able to tell it which files to use and the rest of your computer will be safe. I'm not so sure that this doesn't open your computer to hackers but they claim it's safe.

The other catch is that you will need to keep your computer turned on at all times. People will not be able to access your files if your computer is shut down.
