P2Ps "Most Wanted Geek"

Mark Gorton is the man behind LimeWire, software that can help you share files of all sorts. Music, being one of those types of files, puts his software in a bit of trouble. It seems that the major recording labels don't want LimeWire around. They want file sharing to go away all together, since his software is the biggest right now, he's stuck in the middle of this battle.
The music industry has been trying to get rid of P2P file sharing networks for years. They've managed to get rid of many and turn other's into pay sites. More keep popping up. They've even arrested some of the people doing the file sharing.
File sharing is part of the Internet. It's never going to go away. Maybe the music industry should find a way to work with the file sharing community instead of trying to chastise them.
""It's almost like a political turf battle. Litigators, by suing, make themselves more important…We've talked to midlevel execs at the label, and it turns out they don't have power to set policy."" ~Mark Gorton, IEEE Spectrum Online (May 2007)
