Pet Peeve
I know it's popular to have music on your social networking site. One of my least favorite thing when browsing the Net, especially if I'm browsing at night when all else are sleeping, is to open a site and have music blare out at me.
One, it might wake someone up. Two, my husband wonders what the hell I'm doing listening to that kind of music when he's home.
Don't get me wrong, I love music as much as the next guy. I like lots of different kinds too. I just don't like it in the Middle of the Night. My husband loves music too, knows every song, who sang it, what album it was on and what year it came out for everything in the 60's, 70's and 80's.
All I'm saying is if you are going to put music or sounds on your Web site, can you please not make it auto-play?
Any Web designer will tell you it's bad practice to make sounds auto play on a Web site. Most people creating Web sites these days are not Web designers though. They are just regular people creating a site and making a statement. I just wish the statement wasn't so loud sometimes.
