Ping.fm Has a New Owner: Seesmic

Ping.fm Has a New Owner: Seesmic

I like Ping.fm because it saves me time. I can update several of my social network sites at once – Twitter, MySpace, Facebook, etc. And often I can get to Ping when the social networking sites I'm updating are actually blocked.

Several sources (Mashable, TechCrunch, Louis Gray) are reporting that Seesmic has bought Ping.

Seesmic, maker of popular desktop and mobile Twitter clients, has just acquired Ping.fm – a service that lets users post to 50 social networks with a single status update – for an undisclosed sum.

The acquisition includes both talent and technology, so Ping.fm co-founders Adam Duffy and Sean McCullough are now Seesmic shareholders and key members of the management team.

Hopefully, the combination of the teams together will only serve to make Ping better…
