Scam Alert! Advanced Fee Scams

People have been using this scam for years, and people are still falling for it. Now it's come into the social networking arena. Today I'm going to tell you about it so you don't fall prey to it too.
Normally, this scam would come to you through email. The person sending the scam would pretend to be a very rich person from another country. They would give you some sort of story about a loved one dying and their need to transfer money to another country. They need your help to do it and claim that they will give you some money for your trouble.
Now they're going into chat rooms or meet friends. They'll pretend to fall in love with the person online and then ask for their help. According to Detective Superintendent Brian Hay of the Queensland Police, they'll take their stolen money and send it to this poor unsuspecting person and ask them to send it to them in another country.
If you get an email or if someone makes a request of you that either seems too good to be true or just doesn't seem right, don't do it. Check with online scam sites first. My favorite site to check for online scams is Urban Legends on About.com.
