See Photos From Your Area
Filed in archive Photo Sharing by Linda Roeder on December 9, 2007
Flickr has a tool that you can use to see photos submitted from your area. Flickr Places lets you search for your area, or another area that you want to see photos of, then see photos submitted from that area of that area.

For example, I live near Trexlertown, PA. So I type, Trexlertown, PA, into the search box on Flickr Places. What I see next is a map of my area along with photos of places I'm familiar with. There are also photos of people from the area and other things.

This is pretty cool. Adding photos to the map is fun too. Just go to the photo and click on the link that says "Place this photo on a map". Now find the place on the map where the photo was taken and drag the photo onto the map. Now, in your "tags" area put the name of your area, and any other relevant tags. At least that's how I did it. If there's a better way, please let us know.

"Speaking of maps, Flickr has tweaked them, too. Instead of browsing locations with a series of pink dots like it used to, it's now a smattering of the latest tags that show up where the shot was taken." ~Josh Lowensohn, Webware

By the way, I know the girl in this photo. She's quite a little champion.
