Social Media meets Family Networks

Social Media meets Family Networks

There is a new social media company named Amiglia with a truly amazing photo technology.

Now, families can share and enjoy their favorite moments on the web. They can upload tons of pictures easily, tag them with a fully integration in Google Maps and feature special events. They even have a Flash based family tree to play with.

Just one point:

I hope to see in the future a better interface integration to give family members the opportunity to have more dynamic conversations.

There is no question that there will be more Family based Social Media Applications in the coming months.

Only time will tell if this market has the potential to be as big as the Entertainment and Enterprise Social Networking space.

Another good family social network to try is http://www.familyden.com. You can create a profile and then link up to your family members. It is easy to share videos and photos, and the best part is that the site is private. So you can choose exactly whom you want to be able to view your items. Check it out. It is less geneology related, but very good with connecting with family. Other features include a calender and blogs and messages.

There is another site called familyigloo.com. If you use compete.com these sites are not tracking too many users!

There is another site called htto://familyigloo.com. If you use compete.com these sites are not tracking too many users anyway! It is hard to get busy families interested in social networking

I’m a non-techie and recently tried out Moomani. I was able to add my family members and we’ve all been using it for the last three months. It’s been great because it is easy to use for older parents and family members/friends (I find there are too many techie features on the other sites). You just need to get your family to join but it is well worth it:

    http://www.moomani.com

I highly recommend trying it out.
