Chat and IM
by Linda Roeder on August 9, 2007

Log in to your social networking site, send a message to your friends using the included internal messaging system. Your message will be saved on your site and they'll be able to respond to it. It's just like email, but it's not.
If you want to leave a message that's more public, you can post a comment on your friend's site instead. You can also send bulletins to all your friends at once. There are also forums where you can post about a specific topic.
There are so many ways to communicate using your social networking site that someday you may not have need for your email anymore.

We felt there is a need for more face to face communication, but also for more privacy and ways to filter contacts alongside that.
