Social Networking = Lower Productivity

Social Networking = Lower Productivity

Businesses are putting a stop to social networking from work. Does social networking at work really lower productivity in the workplace.

"Time spent contributing to social networking sites will be more likely to improve your business than have a negative impact." ~Graham Jones (June 1)

Graham Jones seems to think that networking in general is the cornerstone of business. Without it, most businesses wouldn't be where they are today. You need a network of people in order to become and be successful.

I'm not sure I agree. Social networking sites that are geared toward business relationships may be beneficial to the workplace. They let people connect; vendors, customers, etc. Social networking sites like MySpace have no place in the workplace. They are mainly for socializing, and that my friends, is a time waster.
