Suggested Improvements for MySpace

Filed in archive MySpace by Linda Roeder on October 10, 2007

Download Squad has posted a top 10 list for ways MySpace should improve to make their site more appealing. Here are my thoughts on their thoughts:

1. Spam - I totally agree that getting rid of the spam problem on MySpace is the number one top priority. I get MySpace spam all the time and it's really frustrating and time consuming.

2. Profile songs - There's nothing I hate more than going to someone's profile and having music blaring at me. I always recommend to people that they don't choose the automatic music play option. I like browsing in the middle of the night when other's in my house are still sleeping.

3. Drag and drop - This would be so cool. Some other Web sites are implementing drag and drop design. I love it, makes life so much easier and gives me more time to do other things.

4. tech supportlinks - This is a must. Tech support should always be quick. More than 48 hours is too long to wait when you have a problem. Even that's too long, but let's be reasonalble.

5. Slow - I've never, personally, had a problem with MySpace loading slow, ever, so I can't empathize with this one. But, if it is a problem for others, then it needs to get fixed, asap.

6. Multiple accounts - I get this. When my son went to set up his MySpace account I had to first set up an email address for him. This is a big pain. What's he need the email address for if MySpace has messaging for him to use?

7. Friend's search - The main reason most people are on MySpace is to find friends. Search should be easy and have a lot of capabilities. Otherwise, why bother?

8. Pop up - I like pop up boxes when they're for confirmation purposes. I hate when a new tab opens in my browser and I don't notice and I sit there clicking and clicking, then I realize I have 10 tabs open, all the same thing.

9. Band - Four songs is really not even close to enough. Some bands have lots of songs they want to share, but they can't, only four.

10. Mass Comment - I'm not sure I even understand what this one means. Mass comment? Woudln't that be kind of like spamming? Anyone help me on this one?
