Tagworld Adds Classifieds w/ Auction Capabilities
Filed in archive Using Social Software by pete on February 18, 2006

Tagworld - the hot newly funded social networking site - has just released a classified service. From their press release:
TagWorld launched a "Classifieds" tab and a "My Store" section today where members can post items for sale. These items will automatically appear in the "All Listings" area and will be searchable by tag or keyword. Members can search for items within a specific radius of their zip code as well. Users can upload multiple images of the item for sale, add a description, choose a price and a payment model (negotiable or fixed), and of course tag the item and select a payment method. TagWorld's integration with PayPal* makes it even easier for anyone to open a store and conduct commerce at their member site. And, TagWorld does not take a fee or a percentage of the purchase price from the store owner or purchaser.
fred, the founder, has Seth Godin's "Free Prize Inside Book" for sale. I'll be watching that one. My copy is just collecting dust.

Although, there are some hideously designed profile pages on tagworld, the site's design allows it to still be navigable (unlike myspace) despite the average teenagers lack of design capabilities.
