According to Information Week (May 22), social networking sites are drawing traffic from each other.

I can tell you why. Most people with a social networking profile also have social networking profiles on other networks. For instance, a person may have a profile on MySpace, Facebook and a couple niche social networking sites. On their Myspace Profile they link to the other social networking profiles they belong to. From the other sites they link back to their MySpace profile.

Soon when someone finds her MySpace profile they click through to her Facebook profile to see what it says there. Then they click through to their niche profiles to learn even more about them and the things they like.

Before you know it all the social networking sites are getting traffic from all the other social networking sites.
