If you Twitter then you may be interested in trying Twhirl. Twhirl is a Twitter client that looks kind of like an Instant Messaging (IM) program. The difference is that instead of being able to chat in real time over an IM network, you get notifications when people sent you messages on Twitter.

With Twhirl you'll always be kept up to date on all your tweets. If you have more than one Twitter account you can receive your Twitter messages for both of them on the same Twhirl client. Search for an old Tweet when you're looking for something someone said to you last week. Even post your own Twitter messages right from Twhirl.

Stan Schroeder of Mashable compares Twirl with Alert Thingy, another Twitter client. See what he has to say about the two Twitter clients and find out which he likes best.
