Want to find people in your own city. Go to Ning and search for a social networking site that's in your area. If you find that Ning doesn't have a social networking site in your area, create your own. Connect yourself with people who are near you or create a social networking site for an organization you belong to.

Here are a few city networks that I found on Ning. This will give you an idea what you can do with a local social networking site.

Austin, Texas

New York, New York
