Teens and Kids

There's been tons of controversy about whether kids should even be on the Internet. Some people think they have no place on social networking sites. This social networking site doesn't agree. They've make this site especially for the little ones.
Webkinz is a social networking site just for kids. Before signing up your kids for their Webkinz account you will need to go to a store and buy a plush toy. Not just any old plush toy either, one of the Webkinz plush toys. There's a list of stores that you can buy them at on their site.
Once you have your plush animal you can sign into Webkinz using the special code that came with your Webkinz animal. When you sign in you will get a free account for a year. After a year you can continue your site, but I think you need to pay something.

This is a virtual pet site. You have your plush pet that you bought from the store, then you will have a virtual form of your same pet on the site. You will need to feed him and take care of him online. You'll also want to take good care of your plush pet so you can continue taking care of him virtually and he'll be happy.
There is also a parents area on the site. You can set up your child's site so they can only play for a certain amount of time and restrict their chat privileges. After all, a child young enough for this probably shouldn't be chatting online anyway.
I think this is a really cute idea. I'm thinking of going out and getting my youngest son one of these pets so he can play this virtual game. I'm wondering how much the plush pets are though.
