When Do "Friends" Become Worthless?
When you have 2000 friends on your list that you never communicate with and don't know anything about, that's worthless. Actually, if you have 10 friends on your list that you never communicate with and don't know anything about, that's pretty worthless too.

That's Wacked (Jul 16) says, "People with thousands of connections and notes like "(accept all invitations)" are pointless. What value are they adding to the network?"

I agree. Why would you have thousands of people on your friends list? It's true, I'm allowing readers to connect to my social networking profiles if they want to, but that's because these people read my site and want to connect with me.

Before I add someone to my friends list I look at their profile. I want to make sure it's not just a site trying to sell me something, I don't connect to them. I want to make sure they're site is not offensive, I don't connect to them either. If I get too many friends on my list, I will eventually go through the list and weed out people. I'm not too that point yet.

So, why would you want to add thousands of people you don't know to your friends list? How do you keep track of them all?
