I like Plurk. It's just really fun to play with. Do I think they'll last a year or two? Maybe, they do have a lot of people who really love being there.
I like Hi5 because they offer so many things to their members. I don't know if they'll last though, unless they start promoting themselves better. They need to somehow get MySpace people to realize that they have a better service.
What do you think? Tell me which are your favorites and if you think they'll last.

Upload videos and earn money - Producer Rewards Program
MetroJoint a social networking site, has introduced a 'Producer Rewards' program that enables users to earn money by uploading videos on the site. The users start earning money once the video receives 5000 views.
Later, user's earnings goes on increasing per thousand view.
"This opens a great wave of enthusiasm amongst the video submitters in India, Pakistan and other countries where MetroJoint has good presence," says Kunal Pandya CEO of MetroJoint "Majority of South Asian nations sites does not have such a program."

I vote Plurk as well. It's everything good about twitter, without everything bad about twitter.
I hope it sticks around (maybe it will get bought by Google)

www.Frompo.com is the next generation of social networking site where members can stay in touch with their College friends, connect with friends, share photos, discover new interests and just hang out and play games. From previous experience, the people who work at www.Frompo.com have learned a lot about what makes social networks fun, and believe that with www.Frompo.com they’ve taken social networking to the next level.

Hi Linda and crew,
I'm going to agree with the first post, by Sean. I like simple sites that are clear and concise. Too often now it seems that sites are blasting you with ads and hiding a lot of pathways to find what you're actually looking for just so they can keep their average time on site high.
One site that I've really enjoyed is Anthillz, www.anthillz.com, they're a fresh new business networking site that seems to have linkedin in their crosshairs.

I'm a huge fan on www.beatbuggy.com. Beatbuggy is much more than Myspace ever was, or ever could hope to be. Beatbuggy breaks through the constraints of social networking and brings everything (music, movies, photos, and design) together in an easy to use package.

There comes a point of social networking saturation, where people just don't have the time and energy to join yet one more site, create yet another profile and make even more "friends."
While social networking sites obviously serve a purpose in helping people connect, there's only so many networks each of us can join...

Hey Linda,
The other day i was looking for a website that would help me plan my activities etc and remind me on a periodic basis... n then i http://www.zahdoo.com
. This website is a socio cognitive utility. It not only helps me plan my schedule etc, it also helps me keep in touch with my network of people and share files of all formats with them, all for free. The best part was that i got to chose how private i wanted my profile and posts to be, unlike facebook and orkut. I guess this website is extremely useful esp for working people who dont have the time to personally stay in touch with their friends. All i can say is that Zahdoo.com is here to stay!

I have a real preference for the simplest of these networks--things like MyBlogLog now owned by Yahoo! and think they are way better than things like MySpace. But frankly I can't figure out long term how any of them will survive without a better business model than advertising for traffic.
