On Communications Overtones, Kami Huyse says that she believes sites like MySpace will continue to thrive because you never know who you can meet out there in the everly open world of MySpace. Targeted sites like LinkedIn have their place but are often hard to make connections on. With a site like MySpace connections are really easy to make and you never know who you are going to meet next.
I believe she has a point. I can go to Minti to meet other parents but that's all I can do there. I'm really not there to open myself up to the world as a whole. I can't just be me. On Minti I would be a parent and that's all I would be. No psychedelic backgrounds there. It just wouldn't fit.
No, I think sites like MySpace will last awhile longer, as long as they can keep the spammers away.
