Yes. Google has a Calendar Now

-space in one motion. It doesn't seem that it is getting the traction that gmail did in the beginning.
I think the holy grail of online calendars is complete and utter integation with outlook. But, google makes a nice leap into the space. Tara from HorsePigCow has a nicely succinct roundup of what's cool and what isn't so cool about google calendar: Why did Google Calendar seduce me?
1. I imports iCal feeds
2. I can enter addresses and instantly have it link to Google Maps
3. It will SMS me with event reminders (supa nice feature)
4. I can create multiple calendars, specify individuals to share those calendars with and invite guests to individual events
5. I can add comments to events, allow others to add comments to my events
6. I can look at it by day, week, month, next 4 days and a scrollable (easy to print) agenda
7. I can show events I've declined
8. etc.
The features are simple and brilliant and thorough all at once...
But...wait...dammit. Yes. Google is still operating in its own little world:
1. Where is my Upcoming.org import?
2. Where are the tags?
3. No Microformats?
If you want more about google calendar, I assure you that you can find more Google jerks jerking google calendar off elsewhere.
No. Event week is not over. It was just on hiatus. I know. It's been a lot longer than a week. So what. I have more to say.
