The Pew Research Center's survey has demonstrated that with the advent of technology, about half of all the U.S. adults are now accepting social networking sites as a part of their daily routine. The research shows that about 40 per cent of baby boomers resort to Internet for social networking sites. This increase in the number of elderly population using social networking sites has been noteworthy, given the popularity of these social networking sites among the youth. The growing adoption of social networking sites reflects pay-offs from variety of senior service technology, such as proprietary tablet platform, which are set to advance more with the innovation in services, applications and devices. The research further predicts that despite this popularity and recognition, the oldest users are still less likely to become regular users of these social networking sites.
